afterwax is formed by the two unsigned artists stelephonic and laleelena in 2007. based in vienna, austria and eindhoven, netherlands we work together in all functions while stelephonic is concentrating on mixing and sound production, laleelena is mainly songwriting and singing allthough there is no absolute roles in our music making process.
we call our style purple pop which is both true and a bit ironic as we oppose to the principles of pop music which is overprocessed and bent to industries demands. we want to produce in a spirit of possibility rather than market demands, a lot of our songwriting being about freedom, love and creativity. the production style is mostly electronic through the influence of stelephonic while laleelena already performed some of our pieces purely analogue in public together we perform with live singing and electronic mixing of our tracks.
in the future we would love to put out a cd and at the moment are working on finding a good label/company that lets us express freely while providing us with the needs to reach a bigger crowd.
